Our Golden Anniversary Celebrations Begin!

On Thursday we commemorated the 50th anniversary of the opening of our school with Mass celebrated by Bishop Seamus and Fr Campion.

We were joined by previous staff and governors, local headteachers, as well as many members of our parish and families of the school.

Members of all sections of the school community contributed to the Mass, which saw the children sing the beautiful setting, Mass of St Bernadette, composed by  CJM Music .

After Mass we enjoyed the customary refreshments in the school hall, the highlight of which was the four amazing birthday cakes organised by Mrs Clausen!

Lots of time was spent catching up and recalling happy memories.

Bishop Seamus was very generous with his time and enjoyed spending the rest of the morning with the pupils in the classrooms. The children particulary enjoyed trying on his Zuchetto!

Later in the day we had an amazing birthday party for all the children, followed by dancing in the playground, led by our very enthusiastic teachers, Miss Miles and Mrs Hargreaves!!

 

The next opportunity to celebrate our anniversary will be a reunion disco on Friday 19th October. This is an over-18s event and tickets are available from school or the parish.
