This year is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Romare Bearden one of the premier artists of all time. To celebrate his birthday and Black History Month Macy's is showcasing his artwork in eleven cities this month. The exhibits will be supplemented by the work of artists who have been inspired by Romare Bearden's work. Here in Atlanta the exhibit is running from February 9 - February 12th. It is free to the public, if his work is showing at your local Macy's I highly recommend seeing it. Aside from seeing his work tonight at the opening, I've only seen his art showcased at MOMA in New York and that was many, many years ago. And the exhibit was packed!!!

Disclosure: I have been compensated to spread the word about the centennial celebration of Romare Bearden but as usual, all opinions are 100% my own.
