World Fitness Day!

On May 1st I was a happy participant in Jane Fonda's first ever World Fitness Day. Approximately 1500 people converged on the field of the Georgia Dome to workout with fitness greats - Jane Fonda, Billy Blanks (Tae-Bo), Denise Austin, Debbie Allen and Richard Simmons. The workout lasted for an hour with each fitness expert taking a turn to lead us in group exercise. It was a wonderful experience. From the Hammer moves that Billy Blanks incorporated into Tae-Bo to the Lady GaGa moves of crazy Richard Simmons it was fun and I certainly worked up a sweat!

In addition to the main workout there was a kid fitness zone, hula -hooping was a big hit and this fat burner is clearly not just for kids!
I was introduced to Lisa Wu-Hartwell by my good bloggy friend Tami and we posed for a picture.
There was a team of bloggers covering the event and we had a blast exercising and covering the event together.
At the end of the workout we were treated to songs from musical guests The Pointer Sisters and Ludacris.
It was a wonderful event that was not only enjoyed by everyone in attendance but it was also streamed live so folks not in the Atlanta area could workout with us. I cannot wait until next year's event, I know it is going to be even bigger and better than this year!
